About pcithbook.com

Why this guide exists, how we research and the standards we hold ourselves to.

Our mission

pcithbook.com explains the PitchBook private capital research platform in plain English for people who use it, are about to use it or are deciding whether to buy it. Vendor material naturally focuses on benefits; generic software lists rarely go beyond a paragraph. We try to fill the gap with practical, workflow-based explanations.

Our editorial angle

We write from the research desk. Every guide starts with a real task — building a sourcing list, assembling precedent transactions, preparing for an LP meeting — and then explains how a private market database supports it, where it falls short and what to verify.

Who we are

We are a small independent editorial team interested in private markets, financial data and research workflows. We are not PitchBook, a reseller or a sales partner. How we research

  • We rely on PitchBook's publicly available pages, published research summaries and widely reported news.
  • We do not repeat coverage counts, customer totals or other statistics we cannot verify independently.
  • We never publish prices, because PitchBook does not publish a price list and quotes vary.
  • We describe alternatives using their own public positioning and avoid scoring them.
  • We review pages periodically and show a "last reviewed" note on guides.

What we will never do

  • Invent prices, discounts or "limited-time" offers.
  • Publish fake reviews, testimonials, awards or scores.
  • Use PitchBook logos or imply official status or a partnership that does not exist.
  • Hide commercial relationships — see our affiliate disclosure.

Not financial advice

Nothing on this site is investment, legal or financial advice. Our guides describe research tools and methods; decisions about investments or purchases are yours.
